As a convenience, existing personal accounts will automatically be merged into one of the new products on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Learn more in the FAQs below.
Personal Checking Account Update FAQs
Why is Taylor Bank updating their checking accounts?
We're updating our accounts to simplify our checking product options and grow relationships, while staying relevant and responsive to customer's needs. We want to continue to deliver on our mission to give back to the communities we serve.
What accounts will automatically merge to For Good Checking?
NOW, Taylor Made, Taylor Made Plus and Rewards accounts will all automatically merge to the For Good Checking account.
What accounts will automatically merge to Free Checking?
Regular Checking accounts will be converted to Free Checking.
Will my current debit card still work after my checking account is updated to the new product?
Yes, current active debit cards will continue to work.
Customers merging into For Good Checking will receive a brand new For Good Debit Card in the mail within 30-60 days after the account merge.
Will I receive a new debit card in the mail to go with my new account?
Only customers with existing active debit cards that are merging into For Good Checking will receive a brand new For Good Debit Card in the mail within 30-60 days after the account merge.
However, please note, the payments industry is migrating to a new standard in how card numbers are formatted. Free Checking account holders may receive a new Visa Debit Card as a result of this mandate later in 2023.
Will my account number change?
Account numbers will not change and you may continue to use your current checks.
1Is there a monthly service fee for the For Good Checking account?
The $10 monthly service fee is waived when customers meet one of the following qualifiers:
- Make 10 or more point of sale transactions with your debit card; OR
- Receive one or more direct deposits; OR
- Maintain a $1,000 average monthly balance, per statement cycle.
Will For Good Checking accountholders pay anything towards the annual For Good Fund donation?
No, the annual charitable donation is completely funded by Taylor Bank. A percentage of the total annual For Good debit card POS transactions will be donated to local charities in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.
