Taylor Bank Awards 2026 For Good Grants Providing $15,000 to Nonprofits in Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia

BERLIN, MD (July 21, 2026) – Taylor Bank is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 For Good Fund grants, awarding a total of $15,000 to three nonprofit organizations that are creating meaningful change in communities across Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. Each organization received a $5,000 grant to support programs that strengthen families, expand financial educational opportunities, and improve long-term community well-being.

 

The annual For Good Fund grants reflects Taylor Bank's commitment to investing in local organizations that address critical community needs and create opportunities for individuals and families to thrive. One nonprofit was selected from each state within Taylor Bank's service area based on the potential impact of its proposed project.

The Worcester County Child Advocacy Center will use its grant to provide direct stabilization assistance to children and families affected by abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other traumatic experiences. Funding will help address urgent needs such as transportation, food, clothing, hygiene items, and emergency household expenses that can create barriers to accessing critical services. By helping families navigate immediate challenges, the program supports greater access to advocacy services, medical care, trauma therapy, and other resources essential to healing and recovery.

 

First State Community Action Agency will use its grant to launch Future Ready, a financial literacy initiative designed to equip approximately 125 Sussex County youth with practical money management skills. Through existing youth programs, participants will learn age-appropriate concepts such as budgeting, saving, banking, responsible spending, goal setting, and financial independence. The initiative also incorporates a whole-family approach, creating opportunities for parents and caregivers to reinforce financial education and promote long-term household stability.

 

The Community Development Training Center will use its grant to implement Project FUEL Academy, an eight-week youth development program serving children ages 8 to 14 from limited-resource families. The program combines financial literacy, entrepreneurship, career exploration, leadership development, and public speaking through interactive workshops, hands-on activities, community tours, and family engagement opportunities. Participants will strengthen critical life skills while exploring future career pathways and showcasing their accomplishments during a culminating Family Celebration and Youth Showcase.
