Chip Technology (EMV)

Chip technology is the payment method globally accepted to combat counterfeit fraud. It is now becoming the industry standard here in the U.S. and, as a commitment to your security, we're adding an embedded chip to your Taylor Bank debit card. Please be on the look out in the coming months for your new Taylor Bank chip enabled debit card.

EMV stands for Europay, Mastercard and Visa, the originating companies who created the standard payment system. Commonly referred to as "Chip or Smart Cards" these cards use a smart chip instead of a magnetic stripe to hold the data that is required to process a transaction. Every time you use your chip card at a chip-enabled terminal, a unique security code is generated, making it very difficult for anyone to reuse your information for counterfeit cards.

Watch this video for more information about chip cards: EMV Demo.

Do you own a business? Check our our EMV for Merchants page for more information.
